24 Apr Justin Noble takes first win of 2015 at Summit Point
Justin Noble has taken his first Formula Vee win of the season. Justin saw his 2015 season get underway with limited track time at the unfamiliar Summit Point circuit. Unfortunately, both qualifying and the first race were cut short due to damage to the barriers and a safety car period, but it was a good learning experience for him.
He gained more valuable track time and at the end of the session he commented “i’m feeling a bit more comfortable in the car and getting more used to the circuit and how it flows. I now feel ready for the 2nd race of the weekend on Sunday.”
Sunday was a great day for Justin. With a 10 minute morning warm up allowing him to get a feel for the conditions before the race started.
When the green flag dropped, Justin, starting in 2nd position, immediately slotted in behind the leader and stayed right on his tail for the first 2 laps. After seeing where the race leader’s weaknesses were, Justin made a bold move at the start of lap 3 into Turn 1 and made it stick. He held the lead until the end of the race, taking the checkered flag in first place, for his first win of the season.
After the race, Justin said “This win is made that much sweeter because we only had 13 laps in total to learn the circuit and the car.” He also added “It’s always good to remember your past achievements, but you can never rest on your laurels, I have to keep moving forward and improve in order to take myself and my career to newer and better heights.”
With a win in the opening round of the season, it’s back to work for Justin, hoping to secure another podium in round 2. Justin is also aiming to join the world famous Skip Barber racing series later in the year.
